Visual and Performing Arts

Performing Arts
Music education in the elementary school level is a vital aspect of a successful school’s curriculum. Researchers have continually gathered evidence supporting the benefits and positive effects of music education within the school and have clearly demonstrated the need for elementary music programs. All students at Thornhill get the opportunity to learn music from one of our amazing music teachers. TK-2nd graders participate in African drumming class once a week. 3-5 graders pick a string instrument to focus on for their last three years of elementary school.

At the end of each semester, all grades perform in Winter and Spring concerts for family and friends.

Visual Arts
Students at Thornhill have the opportunity to learn art from our amazing art teacher, Ms. Tricia Larsen. Students learn the basic elements of art and form.  Ms. Bull works closely with classroom teachers to integrate art with social studies and science.
