Registration & Enrollment at Thornhill
Interested in attending Thornhill? Need to register your student for the upcoming school year? There are different requirements and forms for new students vs. returning students. Please read each section carefully to make sure you have all of the required documentation.
Registration for New and Returning Students
Registration is required every year for all new and returning students.
I have a returning student. How do I register for the 2023-2024 school year?
If you have a returning student and plan on attending Thornhill in the Fall, you'll need to register them through the Aeries Parent Portal. Our secretary, Ms. Sherry, will send information via Konstella in late Spring with instructions. Please contact our school Secretary, Sherry Kaetzel, if you need your student’s ID number and/or passcode. If you have a new TK or Kindergarten student, enrollment will be through EnrollWise, and you’ll get separate instructions.
Note: If you did not complete online registration by the deadline, your child will NOT lose their spot. You can complete paper registration in August. School sites will offer opportunities to complete paper registration in early August. Thornhill will reach out with details later this summer. I have an incoming student. How do I get my EnrollWise account login to register?
If you are brand new to OUSD, please visit the EnrollWise website to create a new account. If you have a returning OUSD student, their previous year(s) information was transferred to the new system from SchoolMint. Follow these steps to gain access to your account:
Now that we've moved registration online, how will I get my child's classroom assignment?
Teachers will be emailing all parents who have completed the online registration process directly the weekday afternoon prior to the start of school. Please do not call or stop by the office for this information.
If you have multiple kids at Thornhill, know that the individual teachers won’t all be able to hit “send” at the exact same moment in time, so please be patient—the emails are coming!
If your registration via Aeries or EnrollWise is not complete, your child will NOT be assigned a teacher, and you’ll need to visit Thornhill on the first day of school.

- Visit www.chooseousd.org/restore
- Click on “Send Link”
- Enter the contact email address on file in Aeries and hit the “Send Link” button
- Once a password reset link has landed in your inbox, click on it and follow the directions for setting your new password
- After that, you will be automatically logged into your account. You can review schools - in multiple languages - and apply

The Oakland Unified School District's options process for the new school year usually opens its first window of applications in November and will end mid-January.
As a first step, you must contact OUSD, not Thornhill.
