BOARD MEETINGS
GENERAL PFC MEETINGS
- Parents who want to make a positive impact on the quality of our kids’ school experience
- Working parents (over half), stay-at-home parents, AT parents, moms, dads, guardians
- Parents who would like to take on leadership positions within the school
KEY BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend monthly Board & General meetings and present/discuss information
- Vote on how to spend the money raised on items that come up related to the school
- Organize defined event or activity, if applicable
- Determine budget needs and manage expenses, if applicable
- Communicate information about events, plans, objectives, and accomplishments via flyers, newsletter, e-mail, Konstella & website
- Maintain electronic files or a binder/folder of information for the next person in the position
BOARD POSITIONS
- Positions are for one year and can be extended to two years if re-elected
- Positions for the following year are approved by the Board in May or June
- Positions are generally assumed in June or July for the following school year
- Some positions can be shared with another person
- There are over 30 ways to participate, from Board roles to committee/club participation
BOARD MEETINGS
- To be determined by the Principal and President by the second week of school, currently once a month from 6:00-7:00 pm with free childcare
- PFC President(s) presides over the meeting
- Principal, two teacher representatives & PFC Board members report on current school/district news
GENERAL PFC MEETINGS
- Typically, three meetings per school year from 6:00pm–7:00pm with free childcare (if needed)
- PFC President(s) presides over the meeting
- Principal, teacher representatives and PFC Board members report on current school/district news, followed by a special presentation of varying themes (parent education, OUSD news, Math Night, etc.)
