School Site Council (SSC)
Are you looking to get involved and help improve student achievement or just want to know more about the efforts underway at our school? Then please attend the School Site Council (SSC) meetings! Check Konstella for meeting dates or email [email protected].
Have you seen the invitations to attend School Site Council (SSC) meetings, but weren’t sure what the SSC was all about? Are you a new or veteran parent looking to get involved in a really important group at our school? Look no further! The SSC is composed of the Thornhill Elementary Principal, parents, school staff, and teachers. The SSC meets quarterly to discuss issues and concerns affecting our school and is open to the entire Thornhill community. The agenda is posted a few days in advance of each meeting in the Konstella calendar entry.
The main responsibility of the SSC is to oversee the development of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), which is required by OUSD. The SPSA is a tool for sites to prioritize particular programs and strategies that will best serve their students, families, and the community. It lays out each school’s plan for achieving its goals, and articulates the nexus between the school's goals and actions and the District's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which lays out goals for the entire district. View more information about SPSA here, and Thornhill's latest budget report here.
