Spring 2023 Get-to-Know-Yous for 2023-2024 Kindergarteners
To help Thornhill's Kindergarten teachers get to know your incoming student better, we are hosting 20-minute, small-group "Spring Get-to-Know-You" sessions in May. Your child will be able to meet a few other potential classmates and engage with all three Kindergarten teachers. This short and sweet meeting will be low key and full of FUN. If you have accepted your child's offer to join Thornhill's 2023-2024 Kindergarten class, please email anna.finnell@ousd.org to sign up for a Spring Get-to-Know-You session and receive additional information.
Information Nights & School Tours
Information nights and tours are intended for prospective families in all grades (TK-5) and have concluded for the 2023 enrollment season.
If you missed our information nights and would like additional information about the school, please contact our TK/Kindergarten Chair at kindergarten@thornhillschool.org.

Enrollment & Immunization Requirements
If you are interested in attending Thornhill, please visit our enrollment page for additional details. Enrollment for new students generally takes place through OUSD starting in November, and school assignments are generally sent in March. Continuing students will receive information from our secretary in late Spring (April/May).
Once you have received your school assignment, please be sure to log in to EnrollWise to confirm your enrollment assignment.
All confirmed students will receive information from your assigned school about required immunization forms around May. Remember, no shots, no school--please plan on turning these into the office prior to the summer break, as they will be closed all summer.

Fall Registration
After immunization records have been submitted, in order to receive class assignments, all students will need to complete the registration process every year prior to the start of school. For the 2023-2024 school year, returning students will be using the Aeries Parent Portal to register.

Summer Playdates (TK/K)
Please join us over the summer for TK and Kindergarten playdates at Thornhill. These casual weekend morning playdates held at Thornhill's play structure are a great way for incoming Thornhill kids to check out their new schoolyard, meet their future classmates, and connect with fellow Thornhill families. Enjoy snacks and unstructured play. Parents and kids will also have the chance to connect with the Thornhill Parent Faculty Club (PFC) volunteers serving as liaisons for the TK/Kindergarten classes. At least one TK or Kindergarten teacher will be at each playdate as well!
Stay tuned for upcoming summer plans!

Meet the Teacher (TK/K)
Prior to the start of school, and once you have received your class assignment, you and your child will have the opportunity to meet your child’s TK/K teacher and visit the classroom for a “look/see, not touch” one morning. Your child will find out where to line up to say goodbye to you on the first day of school and every day thereafter. You will also find out more information about your child’s assessment day, which generally takes place during the first two weeks of school.
First Day of School Welcome
Join fellow parents for coffee and light treats on the back patio after drop-off on the first day of school, courtesy of your Thornhill PFC!
