I’m honored and excited to join the Thornhill Elementary community as your new principal! My journey in education began as a math teacher, where I spent 12 wonderful years inspiring students, cultivating a love for mathematics, and building strong, trusting relationships with students and their families. I believe deeply in the power of partnership between home and school—and know that together, we create the conditions for students to thrive.
This is my fourth year serving in Oakland Unified School District. I previously served as the 8thgrade Assistant Principal at Elmhurst United Middle School and, most recently, as the Interim Principal at Esperanza Elementary. I’m thrilled to now call Thornhill my home. I’ve been eager to find a place where I can plant roots, grow in community, and help create an environment where all students soar.
As a proud OUSD parent, I’m also walking this journey with you—my son, Astin, is entering first grade at another OUSD school and is just as excited as I am for this new chapter.

"Every learner. Every voice. Every day."
Born in Oakland and deeply connected to the community, I bring a deep commitment to academic excellence, joyful learning, and a school culture where every child is known, loved, and challenged. My own educational journey—and my family’s—fuel my passion for uplifting every student and ensuring school is a place where curiosity, confidence, and creativity are nurtured.
When I’m not on campus, you might find me playing softball around the Bay Area, exploring art and music festivals, or taking bike rides with my family. At Thornhill, I look forward to partnering with our talented staff, dedicated families, and brilliant students to build on the strong foundation that already exists.
Together, we’ll foster a culture of care, community, and high expectations—where every Thunderbird can soar. I can’t wait to meet you all and begin this exciting journey together!
Every learner. Every voice. Every day.
With gratitude,
