Thornhill Elementary School’s 26th Annual Benefit

This is our biggest fundraiser of the year generating more than 60% of our Parent Faculty Club’s annual operating budget. We raised $115,000 last year with proceeds going towards funding music, art, language, science and physical education programs that the Oakland Unified School District cannot support due to budget constraints.

Tickets for this year’s event are $50 per person and include a tantalizing dinner of small bites and heartier fare expertly prepared and served buffet-style throughout the evening by Thornhill mom and award-winning caterer, Carrie Dove and her team. Also included in your ticket price are a bar flowing freely with complementary wine and beer along with specialty cocktails, live music and dancing with The Smokin’ J’s, one-of-a-kind silent and live auction offerings, and the ambience of a novel venue transformed into an Evening Under the Stars. Get ready for the Online Auction!
Mark your calendars–on Monday, February 27th, our online auction begins! The online auction lasts for only five days and will end at exactly 10pm on Friday, March 2nd. This is a great opportunity to begin winning some great auction items. Online auction items are different than the ones at the live event on March 10th. Why is there an online auction? We don’t have room at our March 10th event for all of the amazing donated items that have come in from parents and businesses and our generous local community. We’d like to give everyone a chance to win something so this is your opportunity. Get ready for the competitive thrill of bidding for one-of-a-kind items and experiences! Class Projects – Our Kids Get Creative!
Class projects are currently being developed by each classroom. A dedicated team of parent volunteers is working with each class to come up with a theme and to design each project accordingly. Last year, class projects ranged from destination get-aways to handcrafted tile trays and were a great way to involve every child in the school in our fundraising efforts. If you need help getting your creative juices flowing we have a whole list of class projects ideas created just for you.

Class projects will all be listed on the auction web site for your perusal – and will be on display in the school foyer February 21 through March 2.
